*An AMERICA AT 250 Talk
Crisscrossing the state to collect photographs and conduct research for Historic Resting Places of Alabama: Cemeteries and Graveyards Around the State (Reedy Press, 2026), Mollie Smith Waters was captivated to discover so many marked graves of Revolutionary War soldiers buried throughout Alabama.
What brought these soldiers to Alabama? How much do we know about them? And where are they buried? As the nation celebrates 250 years since our Declaration of Independence, this presentation explores the post-Revolutionary War lives and deaths of some of the nation’s earliest veterans whose final resting places are in Alabama.
This program requires access to a projector or monitor connection in order to show the many images of different gravestones connected to the topic.
