Join AHA for a full-day workshop designed to help educators bring Alabama History Day into their classroom as a dynamic learning tool -- one that helps students become confident, curious learners!

This workshop will also prepare teachers to incorporate the 2025-2026 Alabama/National History Day theme into the classroom -- an appropriate one for the 250th anniversary of America’s Declaration of Independence: Revolution, Reaction, Reform in History.

ABOUT HISTORY DAY
Alabama History Day students pick a topic of interest and learn how to conduct primary research and analyze sources. Then, they get creative. Students can present their findings as a Paper, Documentary, Website, Performance, or Exhibit. In the process, students become writers, filmmakers, web designers, playwrights, and artists as they create unique contemporary expressions of history.

Students have the chance to compete in regional and state competitions in the spring, and the state’s top winners become eligible to compete against their peers nationwide at National History Day in the summer.

History Day -- and this workshop -- are designed for grades 6-12. All teachers are welcome!
