To memorialize the lives of enslaved African Americans whose names have been discovered in local Black Belt church records, those names will be sewn into a large quilt. This arts + humanities event will also feature presentations on historic church records and on the state's rich African American quilting tradition.

Lunch available. Masks recommended. Attendees are welcome to bring fabric to sew names of their own family members who were enslaved.
