A SUPER Teacher workshop open to all! This workshop will encourage Alabamians to see themselves as connected to (and separated from) one another in ways that go further back than most of us can imagine -- the sort of ways that Yaa Gyasi researched and imagined to craft her novel
Homegoing.
Born in Ghana and raised in Huntsville, Alabama, Gyasi is an MFA graduate of the Iowa Writer’s Workshop. She is the winner of the National Book Critics Circle John Leonard Prize, the PEN/Hemingway Award for Best First Novel, and was a finalist for the Dayton Literary Peace Prize for Fiction and the PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize.
This workshop series is led by Zanice Bond, Ph.D., associate professor of English, Tuskegee University, and presented in partnership with Alabama Public Television.
