An AHA Humanities and Healthcare program in partnership with UAB Arts in Medicine. Literature can help us heal and empathy can help us better care for each other.
This two-part film and poetry discussion will generate constructive conversations around the film "Toxic: A Black Woman's Story," and the poetry collection "Mend" by Kwoya Maples. The program will also include a talk by AHA Road Scholar Salaam Green, an artist in residence and Palliative Support Care Center scholar at UAB Arts in Medicine.
